You will stay in premium boutique lodges, setting out on expert-led open jeep safaris to witness magnificent wildlife, including the rare Asiatic lion in its natural habitat. Day 1: Arrive in Bhavnagar & Transfer to Velavadar
Upon arrival at Bhavnagar via a domestic flight, you will be met by an English-speaking representative for assistance. A scenic drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (55km) takes you to your exquisite hotel in Velavadar. Check in to your villa, relax, and perhaps enjoy the sunset from your private deck before settling in for the night.Day 2: Safari in The Blackbuck National Park
Embark on a guided tour of The Blackbuck National Park. Custom-designed open jeeps are provided for unparalleled wildlife viewing and photography, with each vehicle equipped with binoculars and field guides. Your drivers and guides are trained by well-known naturalists, ensuring an enriching experience for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.Day 3: Day at Leisure in Velavadar
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a full day to unwind at your own pace. We highly recommend making the most of your time at The Blackbuck Lodge by arranging a special bush dinner under the starlit sky or enjoying a sundowner by the river. You can also explore the surrounding area on a guided birding walk to spot the region's incredible avian life.Day 4: Drive to Gir
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and enjoy a comfortable drive towards the famous Gir region (approximately 5 hours, 225km). Upon arrival, check in at your premium accommodation and spend the afternoon relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.Day 5: Gir Jungle Safari
Start the day before dawn, heading out on your thrilling Gir Jungle Safari. This sanctuary is home to 700 Asiatic lions at the last count, making sighting of these majestic creatures during your safari frequent. On your game drive, you are also likely to spot some unexpected friends, such as leopards, blue bulls, wild boars, jackals, and perhaps a few of the over 300 birds native to the region. Return in time for breakfast and a leisurely day of relaxation.Day 6: Day at Leisure in Gir
Spend the day at leisure following breakfast. Relax by the pool, indulge at the spa, take a pottery class, enjoy a peaceful nature trail walk amidst the sprawling mango orchards at Postcard Gir, or enquire about a Siddhi Dhamal dance performance to experience the vibrant local culture before dinner. Finish your night with a spot of stargazing.Day 7: Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before checking out. You will be transferred back to Bhavnagar airport for your onward journey (approximately 5 hours, 230km). Safe travels.
